Racing photography master Keith Sutton knew Ayrton Senna well before his days in F1. Now, Proud Galleries are bringing the amazing images he captured during those early years to the public.
Running from the 6th of March until 4th of May in London, the Proud Galleries Ayrton Senna Exhibition is a free display of unbelievable, rarely seen photos taken by Keith Sutton. Marking the 30th anniversary of his debut and the 20th of his legacy, the show features the fantastic photography of Keith Sutton from both in front of and behind the scenes of Ayrton’s years racing in not only F1, but Formula Ford too. It’s a great opportunity to take in a lesser-seen side of Senna – a younger, even hungrier up-and-comer fighting his way through Formula Ford. The exhibition charts his career from these early days, right through to his accident at the 1994 San Marino GP. “From the moment I first photographed him…I knew I was witnessing an incredibly charismatic and talented young racing driver who would one day go on to become one of Formula One’s legends,” explains Sutton. As their friendship blossomed, Keith continued to photograph Senna throughout his career both on the racetrack and in more private moments, creating the largest archive of this intense and forceful personality.Date: 6th March – 4th May
