We first encountered Tom Havalsak’s ravishing retro art back in the wild old days of 2013, and we loved the way he captured the bombastic character of the golden age of motorsport. He recently got in touch to share some of his new work with everyone, and it’s even better.
We particularly love his new design-heavy works, which pull a major design colour from a car and employ it as a simple block background with the car set side-on at the bottom of the frame. It’s a striking way to emphasise the lines of a car and the machines have a wonderful pop to them.
Since we last spoke, Tom’s installed six of his works in the famous Le Mans Legends cafe in, surprisingly, Le Mans, and had his Senna JPS painting featured at a gallery in Monaco. We’re thrilled to see his work supported in this way and hope that, like his work, things get better and better!
Tom is available for commission work and you can contact him via email at tomhavlasekart@gmail.com. Check him out on Facebook at his page here.
