Ferrari 330 P4

There’s timeless beauty, and then there’s the Ferrari 330 P4.

In 1966 Enzo Ferrari watched Ford take first, second and third in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The result of this was the stunning Ferrari 330 P4 endurance racer, developed from the Ferrari 330 P3 platform under the supervision of chief engineer Mauro Forghieri. The Ferrari 330 P4 would make the marque a frontrunner in sports prototype racing for 1967, dominating the podium at the 24 Hours of Daytona and Monza. Unfortunately for Enzo and Forghieri it would be Ford again who would win the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the P4 taking a respectable, if not inglorious second and third place.

The Ferrari 330 P4 proved to be enough to take possession of the sports prototype title in 1967, and although rule changes soon ended it’s eligibility not long after, the car had already become a legend.
