Say hell-o to Group B spec Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione; the incredibly rare, 940 kilogram, 650 horsepower predecessor to the legendary F40.
You’re looking at Ferrari’s would-be Group B monster, a turbocharged V8 machine aimed squarely at the tail lights of the Porsche 959. Weighing just 940 kilograms and producing between 530 and 650hp depending on spec, the 2.8L fuel injected and turbocharged V8 Evoluzione had everything it needed to put Ferrari on top.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), the swift demise of Group B Racing worldwide meant that the Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione never turned a wheel in competition. Only five of the originally planned 20 Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione were ever built.
