Held in Mexico City in October, the Mexican Grand Prix was the 15th round of the 1986 Forumla One World Championship. Nelson Piquet started in second position, ahead of Cannon Williams team mate Nigel Mansell in third. Ayrton Senna was on pole.

Piquet would finish the race in fourth place, and Mansell fifth. The 1986 Mexican Grand Prix would be best remembered as Gerhard Berger and Benetton’s first Formula One Grand Prix victory, for now let’s enjoy the magic of this pre-race moment.

Nigel Mansell would end up second overall in the 1986 Championship, with Nelson Piquet right behind him. Piquet would go on to drive the updated FW11B to a World Championship victory for Cannon / Williams in 1987.
