Minisquadra’s new series, GRIP, celebrates Portuguese motorsport history through some truly stunning hand made models of rally and sportscar racers from the ’60s to the ’80s. Check ‘em out.
Minisquadra is a small studio located in Portugal dedicated to the creation of high-quality models. Their newest series, GRIP, presents rally and sportscars at 1/43 scale. The models are hand made in limited and numbered quantities. The goal is to create unique models of exceptional quality that should grow to become desirable collector’s items in their own right.
The scale model cars are assembled to order by a single modeling artist and will include a numbered certificate of guarantee. The incredibly detailed work includes the interior, photo-etched details, rubber tyres, decals, bodywork, chassis and accessories created in resin and paintwork lovingly built up over multiple layers as you’d find in the real thing. Each model is presented on a custom laser-engraved base in its own display case.
The models are going to focus on the golden era of the 1960s to the 1980s in Portuguese motorsport history. They will include rally and sports cars raced by Portuguese drivers as well as models of cars driven by international racers in Portugal’s greatest races.
The team’s newest model is the Audi Sport Quattro which raced to third in the Rallye de Portugal Vinho do Porto in 1985. Check it out in the pics, and make sure to head to their website here for more information.
