As soon as we heard the noise coming out of Tiff Needell’s Ex-works Daily Express Rover No.9 in this video, we knew we had to share it with you. It’s a spiritual experience.
The video of his lap, shot in a super-wide hyperspace-inspired angle, is pretty good as well.
Tiff was qualifying for the Gerry Marshall Trophy for Group 1 touring cars up to 1982 in 2015’s 73rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting. The race is named for Gerry Marshall, a British saloon car racer whose legendary four-decade career earned him hero status with racing fans.
This run sees Tiff qualifying his way to third in the Daily Express Dave Price Racing and Tom Walkinshaw Racing Rover SD1. As you’d expect from Tiff, the lap’s on the button and awesome.
Find your way to the best audio gear you can, turn it up as loud as it will go and spend a few minutes achieving spiritual enlightenment thanks to the Rover’s symphonic V8.
