Porsche 910 Pure Sounds

Hop on board a Porsche 910 for a few laps of Circuit de la Sarthe during a night session of the 2016 Le Mans Classic.

This one’s a simple one – just turn up the volume and enjoy that absolutely stunning engine note and the atmosphere of Le Mans at twilight, surrounded by gorgeous ’60s and early ’70s sports racing cars.

Porsche’s 910 followed on from their 906, joining the sport in 1966 and only sticking around with the factory until 1967. It was similar to the 906, although it used smaller and lighter 13″ central nut wheels instead of the 906’s 15″ five-nut wheels. Another featherweight racer, the 910 weighed in at under 600kg.

A 910 would help Porsche claim a sentimental win on home soil when Joe Buzetta and Udo Schutz won the 1967 1000 Kilometers of Nürburgring. The 910s did it in style as well, locking out the podium and taking fourth and sixth for good measure. Gerhard Mitter would also win the Sports Car class of the European Hill Climb Championship three years on the trot, from 1966 to 1968, driving a 910.

Hit play, crank the volume and enjoy.
