The 51st edition of the Oldtimer Grand Prix will take place at the Nürburgring on the weekend of August 9, 10 and 11, 2024. One of Europe’s largest events in the field of historic motorsport which features as usual an extensive and fascinating program.

This event is known for its great diversity accompanied by international participation. This year, the organiser has once again created an impressive program with the presence of a number of icons from the history of motorsport.

One of many highlights is the annual evening race on Saturday for two-seater sports cars and GTs. Another magnet is the presence of touring cars from the golden era, with no fewer than fifty eight cars set for this edition, including the BMW M3 E30, Mercedes 190, Ford Sierra RS500 and many others.

Enthusiasts of classic Group 5 monsters will be well catered for with the DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft) Revival, which includes six BMW M1s, four Ford Capri Turbo Group 5s, Porsche 934/5s and 935s and a whole range of other cars.

The FHR Historic Championship CanAm & Sportscars offers a colourful mix of CanAm monsters, Group C sports cars and GTs from a bygone era. Particularly in the CanAm class, the organisation has managed to secure a number of very special cars that we rarely or never see in action during an actual race.

Three Shadow CanAm cars grace the starting list, with a Shadow DN2, a Mk.3 and a DN4 that will come over from the United States. In addition, a Lola T165 and T310 and the presence of the McLaren M1C, M6B, M8C and M8F are also notable.

The extensive program also includes Formula V, Graf Berge von Trips Pokal for Formula 2 and 3 and Formula Ford cars, Historic Grand Prix Car Association, Historic Championship ’65 and ’81, the Vintage Sports Car Trophy and the Ferrari Club Deutschland Racing Series.

Autograph hunters can supplement their collection with the presence of icons from the DRM and DTM era with Kris Nissen, Leopold Prinz von Bayern, Roland Asch, Harald Grohs, Kurt Thiim and Olaf Manthey all planned to attend. We will be present and report extensively on this great event.

Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event can be purchased here.
