The McLaren M7C is known inside McLaren as the “Thursday car”, because on May 15, 1969, the team showed up for practice at Monaco sporting a front wing dubbed the “Guillotine” and was immediately banned on safety grounds. The Ford Cosworth DFV powered, ‘papaya orange’ racer was never seen in this configuration again.
