Fangio 1956 French-gpThis awesome piece of period F1 coverage wings the clock back a little under 60 years. How things have changed!

The 1956 French Grand Prix was held in July at Reims, and was won by Englishman Peter Collins in the Ferrari (please accept our apologies for the spoiler).  Watch out for Moss behind the wheel of the Maserati 250F, Fangio (pictured) in his Ferrari, and the short, not so sweet appearance of the Bugatti Type 251 – the only time history would see the marque compete in a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Fast forward to 4:45 if you’d like to see the finish.
