Riccardo Patrese’s ride for the 1980 and 1981 Formula 1 seasons and responsible for Arrows’ best ever race results, this A3, chassis #3, is up for sale at RMD.
In it, Patrese claimed second in the 1980 US West Grand Prix, fastest lap in the calamitous 1980 Monaco Grand Prix, and pole position in the 1981 Long Beach Grand Prix.
For 1980 the car ran the classic gold Warsteiner livery, which changed in 1981 when the team struck a sponsorship deal with Ceramiche Ragno and Utili Beta of Milan.
Arrows moved on from the A3 in 1982, to the A4, and the A3 was sold to Jackie Oliver, who took it up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1994. The car remained completely original through its next two owners, and is now race prepared and cared for by WDK Motorsport for its current owner.
It’s in race ready condition and currently campaigned competitively in the FIA World Championship GP Masters, and with such an extensive period career with a classic team, looks like an awesome historic racer to add to your collection.
Check it out at RMD’s official website here.
