With durability concerns causing sales to tank and GM-H on song and hitting hard, Ford Australia was in trouble in 1965.

So they gathered together a fleet of brand new, showroom stock ’65 model XP Falcons, sent them to the gruelling You Yangs proving grounds and set them on a 70,000 mile, 70 mile an hour average speed durability run.
