Sit down with an effusive and entertaining Robin Miller from RACER for a little motorsport story time, enjoying the incredible racing adventures of Jan Opperman.
“He was leading the race, gets hit with a rock. His goggles filled up with blood, so he slows down off the cushion, peels his goggles off and lets all the blood drain out. Puts his goggles back on. Drives back up from fifth to win the race. A little blood didn’t slow Jan Opperman down – he was a badass.”
It’s one thing to be able to recount the incredible goings on that make up history of motorsport. It’s an entirely different thing to weave these stories together with the captivating skill of a true storyteller. And that, of course, is the best way to enjoy them.
Robin Miller is the master storyteller starring in this video, and Jan Opperman is the man providing the fuel for his tales. Jan Opperman was a born racer who made his name racing sprint cars, as well as racing in the USAC Championship Car series and the Indy 500. He’s a one-of-a-kind character who burned incredibly brightly and contributed many legends to the history of motorsport, before leaving us much to soon. Enjoy his stories, thanks to Racer and Robin Miller.
