US$1.7 million. That’s what it costs to buy a seat in an ex-Schumacher F300. For this car, at this point in time, at least.
Generating dual rounds of applause, one in response to the aural treat of it revving on the auction block, and a second as a gesture of support for Schumacher and his family, the car took just four minutes to go from US$0 to US$1,700,000.
A car which signified Ferrari winding up to utterly dominate Formula 1, with Schumacher at the wheel, this machine is one of just nine and was instrumental in Ferrari and Schumacher’s testing for the ’98 season. Its V10 Tipo 47 delivers 805 horsepower once you wind it up to 17,500RPM, and it features many of the developments which made Ferrari so strong in the ’00s.
It’s in pristine condition and a hugely-important piece of Ferrari’s Formula 1 history. We hope its new owner has a lot of fun with it!
